Description

Antipasto Squares are a delicious, savory appetizer featuring layers of crescent roll dough filled with deli ham, pepperoni, salami, provolone, mozzarella, and banana peppers. Baked until golden and topped with parmesan and Italian seasoning, these squares are perfect for parties or casual gatherings, and pair wonderfully with marinara or pesto dipping sauces.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Dough and Topping

  • 2 Tubes of Crescent Rolls
  • 2 Tablespoons Melted Butter
  • ¼ Cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 Tablespoon Italian Seasoning

For the Filling

  • ½ Pound Deli Ham, sliced
  • ¼ Pound Sliced Pepperoni
  • ¼ Pound Genoa Salami
  • ¼ Pound Sliced Provolone Cheese
  • ¼ Pound Sliced Mozzarella Cheese
  • ½ Cup Banana Peppers, sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
  2. Form Bottom Layer: Unroll one tube of crescent roll dough and press it evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Pinch the seams together to seal the dough.
  3. Add Filling Layers: Layer the deli ham, pepperoni, salami, provolone, mozzarella, and banana peppers evenly over the crescent roll base, distributing all ingredients uniformly.
  4. Cover with Top Dough: Unroll the second tube of crescent roll dough and place it gently over the filling layer. Press down lightly and pinch the seams together to enclose the filling completely.
  5. Apply Butter and Seasoning: Brush the top crescent roll dough with melted butter. Then sprinkle evenly with grated parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning to add flavor and aid browning.
  6. Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is heated through.
  7. Cool Slightly: Remove from the oven and let the antipasto squares cool for a few minutes, allowing the filling to set for easier cutting.
  8. Serve: Cut into 12 squares and serve warm with your choice of marinara sauce or pesto for dipping. Enjoy your flavorful antipasto squares!

Notes

  • You can substitute banana peppers with roasted red peppers if preferred.
  • Use your favorite Italian seasoning blend or mix dried oregano, basil, and thyme as a substitute.
  • For easier slicing, let the antipasto squares rest a bit before cutting.
  • These squares can be prepared ahead of time and baked just before serving.
  • Serve with a side salad to make a light meal.
