Description

A luscious Banana Cream Chocolate Pie featuring a rich chocolate layer, fresh banana slices, creamy vanilla pudding, and a graham cracker crust, topped with whipped cream for a delightful no-bake dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate Layer

  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons milk (from the 2 cups)
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Pie Base

  • 1 prepared graham cracker pie crust

Banana Layer

  • 2-3 medium bananas, sliced into 1/4 inch pieces

Pudding Layer

  • 1 3.4 ounce box instant vanilla or banana pudding mix
  • 2 cups milk (divided, 2 tablespoons used in chocolate layer, remaining for pudding)

Topping

  • 1 1/4 cups whipped cream or Cool Whip

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chocolate Layer: In a medium bowl, microwave the semi-sweet chocolate chips, 2 tablespoons of milk, and butter on high for 1 to 1 ½ minutes, stirring every 30 seconds. Stir until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth. Spread this mixture evenly into the prepared graham cracker crust. Refrigerate for 30 minutes or until the chocolate layer is fully set.
  2. Make the Pudding: Prepare the instant vanilla or banana pudding according to the package directions using the remaining milk. Let the pudding stand for 5 minutes to thicken.
  3. Add Banana Slices: Slice 1 to 2 medium bananas into 1/4 inch pieces and arrange them in a single even layer over the set chocolate layer in the crust.
  4. Assemble the Pie: Spoon the prepared pudding evenly over the layer of bananas, covering them completely. Spread whipped cream or Cool Whip on top of the pudding layer. Refrigerate the pie for 4 hours or until fully set.
  5. Serve: Before serving, optionally top the pie with additional sliced bananas and chocolate shavings for extra flavor and decoration.

Notes

  • Use ripe bananas for the best flavor and sweetness.
  • Ensure the chocolate layer is completely set before adding bananas to prevent mixing.
  • You can substitute the whipped cream with Cool Whip for a lighter topping.
  • For added texture, sprinkle some crushed graham crackers or chopped nuts on top before serving.
  • This pie is best served chilled and consumed within 2 days for freshness.
