Ingredients
Scale
Shrimp and Sauce
- 1 pound shrimp (26-30 count, peeled and deveined)
- ½ cup Bang Bang Sauce (click for recipe)
- 2 tablespoons chopped green onions (sliced at an angle, divided)
- 2 tablespoons oil (for cooking)
Instructions
- Soak Skewers (Optional): If using wooden skewers, place them in a shallow baking dish and cover with water. Let soak for 10 minutes to prevent burning during cooking.
- Prepare Dipping Sauce: Pour half of the Bang Bang Sauce into a small bowl to serve as dipping sauce later. Set aside.
- Skewer the Shrimp (Optional): Thread 4-5 peeled and deveined shrimp onto each skewer. Brush the remaining Bang Bang Sauce over the skewered shrimp to coat evenly.
- Heat the Skillet: Warm a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Drizzle 2 tablespoons of oil onto the surface to prevent sticking.
- Cook the Shrimp: Place the shrimp (on skewers or loose) onto the skillet. Cook for 1-2 minutes per side until shrimp turns opaque and reaches an internal temperature of 120°F. Shrimp cooks quickly, so watch carefully to avoid overcooking.
- Brush with Sauce and Garnish: Transfer cooked shrimp to a serving dish. Lightly brush with the reserved Bang Bang Sauce and sprinkle with the remaining chopped green onions for freshness and crunch.
- Serve Immediately: Serve the shrimp hot with the prepared dipping sauce on the side for extra flavor.
Notes
- Soaking wooden skewers prevents them from burning when cooked on the skillet.
- Adjust cooking time depending on the size of the shrimp for optimal texture.
- You can omit skewers and cook shrimp loose if preferred.
- Serve with steamed rice or a fresh salad to make a complete meal.
- Use fresh green onions sliced on an angle for best presentation and flavor.
