Ingredients
Scale
For the Egg Roll Filling
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 cup onions, diced
- 2 tbsp yellow mustard
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 3/4 cup dill pickles, chopped
For the Egg Rolls
- 12 egg roll wrappers
For the Special Sauce
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 3 tbsp pickles, minced
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp mustard
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1/2 tsp paprika
Instructions
- Cook the Beef Mixture: In a skillet over medium heat, combine the ground beef, yellow mustard, ketchup, salt, and pepper. Cook for about 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the beef is fully cooked. Drain any excess grease and set aside.
- Prepare Egg Roll Wrappers: Lay each egg roll wrapper flat on a clean surface in a diamond shape, with one corner pointing towards you.
- Assemble the Egg Rolls: Place approximately 1 tablespoon of shredded cheddar cheese in the center of the wrapper. Top with about 3 tablespoons of the cooked beef mixture and 1 tablespoon of chopped dill pickles.
- Fold and Roll: Fold the left and right corners of the wrapper inward over the filling. Then tightly fold the bottom corner up over the filling, and roll upwards tightly. Seal the top corner with a few drops of water to ensure it sticks.
- Heat Oil for Frying: In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the Egg Rolls: Carefully place the egg rolls in the hot oil and fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Do not overcrowd the pan; fry in batches if necessary.
- Drain Excess Oil: Remove the egg rolls with a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Prepare the Special Sauce: In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, minced pickles, sugar, mustard, ketchup, and paprika until well combined.
- Serve: Serve the hot Big Mac Egg Rolls with the prepared special sauce for dipping.
Notes
- You can customize the filling by adding shredded lettuce or more cheese if desired.
- Use a thermometer to maintain the correct oil temperature for frying to avoid greasy egg rolls.
- If you prefer, egg rolls can be baked at 400°F (205°C) for 15-18 minutes as a healthier alternative.
- Store leftover egg rolls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in an oven or air fryer for best texture.
