Description

A fresh and visually stunning Caprese Wreath featuring alternating slices of ripe tomatoes and creamy mozzarella, garnished with cherry tomatoes, fresh herbs, and drizzled with olive oil and balsamic glaze. Perfect as a light appetizer or a festive centerpiece for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 3 large tomatoes, sliced into rounds
  • 16 ounces large mozzarella balls, sliced into rounds
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, sliced in half

Seasonings & Garnish

  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 tablespoon balsamic glaze
  • 1/2 teaspoon flaky sea salt
  • Handful of fresh herbs (basil, oregano, rosemary)

Instructions

  1. Arrange the Wreath: On a large plate or wooden board, alternate slices of tomato and mozzarella in a circular wreath shape, creating a beautiful and balanced pattern.
  2. Add Herbs and Cherry Tomatoes: Tuck fresh basil, oregano, and rosemary sprigs in between and underneath the tomato and mozzarella layers. Then place the halved cherry tomatoes around the outside of the wreath for added color and texture.
  3. Season and Finish: Sprinkle the flaky sea salt evenly over the wreath. Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil followed by the balsamic glaze. Serve immediately to enjoy the fresh flavors and vibrant presentation.

Notes

  • Use ripe but firm tomatoes to hold the wreath shape well.
  • Mozzarella balls work best when sliced evenly for balanced layering.
  • Fresh herbs can be adjusted based on availability and preference.
  • This dish is best served fresh and should not be stored for long periods to maintain texture and flavor.
