  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped maraschino cherries (drained and patted dry)
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon maraschino cherry juice


Instructions

  1. Prepare the Batter: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan. In a medium bowl, combine the dry ingredients. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar, then add eggs, sour cream, milk, vanilla, and cherry juice.
  2. Combine Ingredients: Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined. Fold in cherries and nuts. Pour into the loaf pan.
  3. Bake: Bake for 55–65 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
