For the Bars:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup fresh or frozen mixed berries (raspberries, blueberries, strawberries)
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Prepare the Batter: Cream together butter and sugars, beat in eggs and vanilla. Whisk dry ingredients and gradually add to the wet mixture. Fold in chocolate chips, berries, and nuts.
- Bake: Spread batter in the dish and bake for 30–35 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool and Serve: Let the bars cool in the pan before cutting into bars.
Notes
- If using frozen berries, do not thaw to avoid excess moisture.
- White chocolate chips can be a sweeter alternative to semi-sweet.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
