Description

This delicious Chocolate Covered Pretzels recipe combines the perfect sweet and salty snack by coating crunchy mini pretzels in luscious melted chocolate. These treats are easy to make and can be personalized with a variety of toppings like sprinkles, toasted coconut, mini chocolate caramels, crushed M&M’s, melted white chocolate drizzle, or graham cracker crumbs. Ideal for parties, gifts, or as a fun homemade sweet bite, these chocolate-covered pretzels harden quickly in the refrigerator to form a glossy, decadent shell.

Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate Covered Pretzels

  • 3 cups mini pretzels (120 grams, about 75 mini pretzels)
  • 8 ounces semisweet Baker’s chocolate (227 grams, coarsely chopped; milk, white, or dark chocolate can be substituted)

Toppings (optional)

  • Sprinkles
  • Toasted coconut
  • Mini chocolate caramels
  • Crushed M&M’s
  • Melted white chocolate
  • Graham cracker crumbs

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Work Surface: Line a baking sheet with wax paper and set it aside to catch any drips and allow the coated pretzels to set properly.
  2. Melt the Chocolate: Place the chopped semisweet chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 1 minute, then remove and stir thoroughly. If it’s not fully melted, continue heating in 30-second intervals, stirring each time until the chocolate is smooth and completely melted.
  3. Dip the Pretzels: Using a fork, dip each mini pretzel individually into the melted chocolate. Lightly tap the fork against the bowl to remove excess chocolate. If needed, use a toothpick to clear chocolate from the holes in the pretzels to keep them neat.
  4. Add Toppings: Place the dipped pretzel onto the lined baking sheet and immediately sprinkle with your choice of toppings such as sprinkles, toasted coconut, crushed M&M’s, or drizzle with melted white chocolate. Repeat this process for all pretzels.
  5. Set the Chocolate: Once all pretzels are coated and topped, place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden and set firmly before serving or storing.

Notes

  • Use good quality chocolate for best flavor and smooth texture.
  • You can substitute semisweet chocolate with milk, white, or dark chocolate depending on your preference.
  • Be careful not to overheat chocolate in the microwave to prevent burning; stir frequently.
  • Store the finished pretzels in an airtight container at room temperature or in the fridge for longer freshness.
  • Feel free to customize toppings to suit any occasion or theme.
