Description

These Christmas Caramel Pretzel Bites are a delightful holiday treat combining crunchy pretzels, melted mini Snickers bars, and creamy almond bark coating, finished with festive crushed candy canes and sprinkles. Perfect for holiday parties or a sweet seasonal snack, these easy-to-make bites offer a perfect balance of salty, sweet, and festive flavors.

Ingredients

Scale

Snacks

  • 60 snap pretzels
  • 30 mini Snickers bars (about 9.7 ounces)

Coating and Garnish

  • 1 cup almond bark (about 4 squares)
  • ¼ cup crushed candy canes (optional garnish)
  • Festive sprinkles (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare and preheat: Line a large sheet pan with parchment paper and preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C) to prepare for melting the candy bars gently.
  2. Arrange pretzels and candy: Lay out half of the snap pretzels evenly on the sheet pan, then place one mini Snickers bar on each pretzel, ensuring even spacing.
  3. Melt the candy bars: Bake the pretzels with Snickers in the oven for 3-4 minutes, just until the chocolate starts to melt and the candy softens, but not fully liquefied.
  4. Create the sandwich: Remove the pan quickly from the oven and place the remaining pretzels on top of the softened Snickers bars, gently pressing down to form a pretzel-Snickers-pretzel sandwich.
  5. Chill the sandwiches: Place the assembled pretzel bites in the freezer for 15 minutes to set and firm up for easier handling and dipping.
  6. Melt the almond bark: While the pretzel bites chill, melt the almond bark using a double boiler or microwave until smooth, stirring frequently to avoid burning.
  7. Dip the pretzel bites: Remove the pretzel sandwiches from the freezer, then dip half of each bite into the melted almond bark to coat with white chocolate.
  8. Add festive toppings: While the almond bark is still warm and soft, sprinkle crushed candy canes and/or festive sprinkles on top for a colorful, holiday-themed finish.
  9. Allow to set: Place the dipped pretzel bites back on the parchment-lined sheet pan and let them set at room temperature for 20-30 minutes until the almond bark hardens.
  10. Serve and enjoy: Arrange the finished Christmas Caramel Pretzel Bites on a nice serving plate and enjoy your festive treat!

Notes

  • Using snap pretzels provides the perfect crunch and shape for sandwiching the candy bars.
  • Do not overheat the Snickers bars; they should be just soft enough to create a sandwich without melting completely.
  • If you do not have almond bark, white chocolate chips can be substituted for dipping.
  • Crushed candy canes and sprinkles add festive color and texture but are optional.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature or refrigerated to maintain freshness.
