Description

A refreshing Classic Strawberry Daiquiri featuring homemade strawberry-kiwi infused rum. This cocktail combines the bright flavors of fresh lime juice, sweet simple syrup, and fruity rum infusion, shaken over ice for a perfectly chilled and vibrant tropical drink.

Ingredients

Scale

Infused Rum

  • 1 cup white rum
  • ½ cup sliced strawberries
  • ½ cup peeled and sliced kiwi

Daiquiri

  • 6 ounces Strawberry-Kiwi infused rum
  • 2 ounces fresh lime juice
  • 2 ounces simple syrup
  • Ice
  • Kiwi slices for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Strawberry-Kiwi Infused Rum: Place the sliced strawberries and peeled, sliced kiwi into a glass container. Pour 1 cup of white rum over the fruit, cover the container tightly, and refrigerate for 36 to 48 hours to allow the flavors to infuse.
  2. Strain the Infused Rum: After the infusion period, strain out the fruit from the rum using a fine mesh strainer and discard the fruit solids. Store the infused rum in the refrigerator until ready to use.
  3. Make the Daiquiri: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add 6 ounces of the strawberry-kiwi infused rum, 2 ounces of fresh lime juice, and 2 ounces of simple syrup to the shaker.
  4. Shake & Serve: Shake vigorously to combine and chill the ingredients well. Strain the mixture into two ice-filled glasses for serving.
  5. Garnish: Optionally, garnish each glass with a slice of fresh kiwi for an extra pop of color and flavor. Serve immediately and enjoy your refreshing strawberry daiquiri.

Notes

  • The infusion time for the rum is critical to developing the fruity flavors; do not rush this step.
  • Adjust the simple syrup quantity to taste if you prefer a sweeter or less sweet cocktail.
  • Use fresh lime juice for the best flavor impact rather than bottled juice.
  • This recipe can be doubled or tripled for larger gatherings.
  • For a frozen version, blend the ingredients with ice instead of shaking.
