- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Season the chicken: Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
- Sear the chicken: In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and sear for 5–6 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Make the sauce: In the same skillet, add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom. Reduce heat to low and stir in the cream cheese until smooth and melted. Add Parmesan, onion powder, basil, and Italian seasoning. Stir until the sauce is well combined and creamy.
- Combine and simmer: Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon the sauce over the top. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until everything is heated through. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
- Serve this over rice, mashed potatoes, or pasta to soak up the creamy sauce.
- You can also add spinach or mushrooms for extra flavor and texture.
