Pie:

  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon bourbon (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • Pinch of salt


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Mix butter and sugar: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until well combined.
  3. Add eggs and dry ingredients: Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the flour, bourbon (if using), vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
  4. Combine chocolate and nuts: Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts.
  5. Prepare the pie: Pour the mixture into the unbaked pie crust and smooth the top.
  6. Bake: Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean.

Notes
