Ingredients
Scale
Sliders
- 12 Hawaiian rolls (or slider buns)
- 1 lb deli ham (thinly sliced)
- 12 slices Swiss cheese (or your choice of cheese)
Butter Glaze
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Prepare Rolls: Slice the Hawaiian rolls horizontally in half, keeping the top and bottom parts connected. Place the bottom halves into the prepared baking dish to form the base of the sliders.
- Add Fillings: Evenly layer the thinly sliced deli ham over the bottom halves of the rolls. Next, place a slice of Swiss cheese on top of the ham layer. Then cover with the top halves of the rolls.
- Make Butter Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, poppy seeds, brown sugar, garlic powder, and onion powder. Add salt and pepper to taste, adjusting the seasoning as preferred.
- Coat Sliders: Pour the butter glaze evenly over the assembled sliders. Use a basting brush to spread the sauce across each top roll to ensure complete coverage.
- Bake Covered: Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes to soften the rolls and allow flavors to meld.
- Bake Uncovered: Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 to 10 minutes until the tops turn golden brown and the cheese inside is fully melted and bubbly.
- Rest and Serve: Remove from the oven and let the sliders rest a few minutes before slicing along the roll divisions. Serve warm and enjoy the sweet and savory bites.
Notes
- You can substitute Swiss cheese with cheddar or provolone for a different flavor profile.
- For added zest, sprinkle a little crushed red pepper flakes in the butter glaze.
- These sliders can be prepared ahead of time, assembled, covered, and refrigerated overnight before baking.
- To reheat leftover sliders, wrap in foil and warm in a 350°F oven for 10-15 minutes.
- Adjust salt and pepper in the butter glaze according to taste preference and dietary needs.
