  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk

Orange Layer

  • 1 (3 oz) box orange gelatin
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • ½ cup cold water
  • ½ cup apple juice or white grape juice

Toppings

  • Whipped cream or Cool Whip
  • Green and orange sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Green Layer: Dissolve the lime gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water by stirring until fully dissolved. Add ½ cup cold water and ½ cup apple juice or white grape juice, then mix well.
  2. Pour and Set Green Layer: Pour the green gelatin mixture into 2-ounce shot glasses, filling each about â…“ full. Refrigerate for 20-30 minutes until set.
  3. Bloom the Gelatin for White Layer: In a small saucepan, sprinkle 2 packets of unflavored gelatin over 1 cup of cold water and let it sit for 1-2 minutes to bloom.
  4. Dissolve Gelatin and Mix White Layer: Heat the bloomed gelatin over low heat, stirring until completely dissolved. Remove from heat and stir in the sweetened condensed milk. Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature.
  5. Add White Layer: Once the green layer is set, pour the white mixture over it in each shot glass, filling to another â…“ full. Refrigerate again for 20-30 minutes until set.
  6. Prepare the Orange Layer: Dissolve the orange gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water by stirring until fully dissolved. Add ½ cup cold water and ½ cup apple juice or white grape juice, then mix well and cool to room temperature.
  7. Add Orange Layer: Pour the cooled orange gelatin mixture on top of the white layer in each shot glass, filling them to the top.
  8. Final Set and Chill: Refrigerate the completed layered shots for an additional 20-30 minutes, or until fully set.
  9. Garnish and Serve: Before serving, top each jello shot with whipped cream or Cool Whip and sprinkle with green and orange sprinkles for a festive touch.

Notes

  • Ensure each gelatin layer is fully set before adding the next to maintain distinct layers.
  • Use room temperature gelatin mixtures for layers after the first to avoid melting the layer below.
  • For a firmer texture, you can slightly reduce the amount of juice and increase water but don’t skip the juice for flavor.
  • These jello shots are non-alcoholic but can be spiked with a splash of Irish whiskey or vodka if desired.
  • Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator and consume within 3 days for best freshness.
