Description

This irresistibly creamy Cajun chicken pasta combines tender, seasoned chicken breast with a rich, spicy cream sauce and perfectly cooked fettuccine. Ready in just 25 minutes, it’s a flavorful, satisfying dinner that comes together with only five simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 1 pound chicken breast
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Pasta

  • 8 ounces fettuccine pasta

Sauce

  • 1 cup heavy cream

Optional Garnish

  • Chopped parsley (optional)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season the Chicken: Pat the chicken breasts dry and evenly coat both sides with 2 tablespoons of Cajun seasoning to infuse the meat with bold, spicy flavors.
  2. Sear the Chicken: Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken and cook for 5 to 6 minutes on each side until the chicken is cooked through and has a nice golden crust. Remove from the skillet and set aside to rest.
  3. Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add 8 ounces of fettuccine pasta and cook according to package directions until al dente. Drain the pasta and set aside.
  4. Prepare the Cream Sauce: In the same skillet used for the chicken, pour in 1 cup of heavy cream. Simmer over medium heat for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cream thickens slightly. Taste and add additional Cajun seasoning if desired for extra spice.
  5. Toss Pasta in Sauce: Add the drained fettuccine to the skillet with the cream sauce, tossing well to evenly coat the pasta with the flavorful, creamy sauce.
  6. Serve: Slice the rested chicken into strips and arrange over the creamy pasta. Garnish with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve immediately while hot and enjoy your creamy Cajun chicken pasta.

Notes

  • Ensure the chicken is cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) for safety.
  • You can substitute heavy cream with half-and-half for a lighter sauce, but it will be less rich.
  • Adjust Cajun seasoning according to your heat preference.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated gently on the stovetop or microwave.
  • Adding vegetables like bell peppers or spinach can add nutrition and color.
