Description

This Irresistible Key Lime Pie Mini Dessert features a creamy, tangy key lime filling atop a buttery graham cracker crust, all served in charming mini dessert cups. Perfect for a refreshing treat or elegant party dessert, these no-bake mini pies are simple to prepare and delightfully flavorful.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 1 cup (100g) graham cracker crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

For the Key Lime Filling:

  • 1 can (14 oz / 396g) sweetened condensed milk
  • 4 oz (113g) cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup (60ml) key lime juice (fresh or bottled)
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest (key lime or regular lime)

For the Topping:

  • 1 cup (240ml) whipped cream or whipped topping
  • Extra lime zest, graham crumbs, or lime wedges for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Crust: Combine graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, and melted butter in a small bowl until the mixture resembles wet sand.
  2. Form the Base: Spoon 1–2 tablespoons of the crust mixture into each small dessert cup or jar. Press down gently with your fingers or a flat-bottomed utensil to create an even crust layer.
  3. Beat Cream Cheese: In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and free of lumps using an electric mixer or whisk.
  4. Make the Filling: Add the sweetened condensed milk, key lime juice, and lime zest to the cream cheese. Beat all ingredients together until fully combined and the mixture is creamy and smooth.
  5. Assemble the Mini Pies: Spoon or pipe the lime filling over each crust in the dessert cups, filling them about three-quarters full. Smooth the tops with a spatula.
  6. Chill to Set: Refrigerate the assembled mini desserts for 2 to 3 hours, or until the filling is set and chilled thoroughly.
  7. Add Topping: Before serving, top each mini pie with a generous dollop of whipped cream or whipped topping.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Garnish each dessert with extra lime zest, a lime wedge, or a sprinkle of graham cracker crumbs for a decorative and flavorful finish.

Notes

  • You can substitute regular lime juice and zest if key limes are unavailable, though key limes provide the authentic tangy flavor.
  • For a firmer crust, chill the crust layer for 10-15 minutes before adding the filling.
  • These mini pies are best served chilled and consumed within 2 days for optimal freshness.
  • Use full-fat cream cheese and whipped cream for the creamiest texture.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sweetened condensed milk based on preference.
