Instructions
- Beat Eggs and Sugar: In a mixing bowl, beat eggs and granulated sugar with an electric mixer until pale and thick.
- Add Vanilla and Dry Ingredients: Mix in vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Fold dry ingredients into the egg mixture.
- Stir in Butter and Milk: Add melted butter and milk, stirring until fully incorporated.
- Chill the Batter: Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat oven to 375°F. Butter and flour a madeleine pan.
- Bake: Spoon batter into molds and bake for 9–11 minutes.
- Cool and Serve: Let madeleines cool in the pan before dusting with powdered sugar.

- Chilling the batter is essential for the classic madeleine shape.
- For a lemony twist, add 1 teaspoon of lemon zest.
