Ingredients
Scale
Crust
- 25 Golden Oreos, crushed
- 6 tablespoons butter, melted
Cheesecake Filling
- 32 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 ounces Cool Whip (extra creamy if possible)
- 16 Fireworks Oreos, chopped
Garnish
- Red or blue pop rocks
- Additional chopped Fireworks Oreos
- Sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the crust: Crush the Golden Oreos finely and combine with the melted butter until well mixed. Press this mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish. Place the dish in the freezer and chill until the crust is firm, about 15-20 minutes.
- Make the cheesecake filling: In a large bowl, beat the room temperature cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy using an electric mixer. Gently fold in the Cool Whip and the chopped Fireworks Oreos to combine evenly without deflating the mixture.
- Assemble the bars: Spread the cheesecake filling evenly over the chilled Oreo crust, smoothing the top with a spatula.
- Chill to set: Refrigerate the assembled cheesecake bars for at least 4 hours to allow them to set properly and develop firm texture.
- Garnish and serve: Before serving, sprinkle additional chopped Fireworks Oreos, colorful sprinkles if using, and the red or blue pop rocks on top to add festive visual appeal and a popping surprise. Cut into approximately 20 bars and serve chilled.
Notes
- For best results, make sure the cream cheese is fully softened to avoid lumps in the filling.
- Press the crust firmly for an even base that holds together well.
- If you cannot find Fireworks Oreos, substitute with regular Oreos or another favorite variety.
- Pop rocks add a fun, crackling effect but are optional if serving to young children or sensitive guests.
- This dessert should be kept refrigerated and consumed within 3-4 days for optimal freshness.
