Description

This refreshing Peach Iced Tea combines the robust flavor of black tea with the sweet, fruity essence of pureed peaches. Perfect for warm days, it is sweetened with a homemade simple syrup, served chilled over ice, and can be garnished with peach slices and fresh mint for an extra burst of aroma and presentation.

Ingredients

Scale

Tea Base

  • 6 black tea bags (regular size)
  • 4 cups water (for brewing tea)
  • 4 cups cool water (to dilute tea)

Simple Syrup

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar

Fruit

  • 1 15 oz can peach slices, pureed

Optional Garnish

  • Peach slices
  • Fresh mint leaves

Instructions

  1. Steep the Tea: In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Once boiling, add the 6 black tea bags and steep for about 5 minutes. Remove and discard the tea bags. Set the tea aside to cool.
  2. Prepare Simple Syrup: While the tea is cooling, combine 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring continuously until the sugar dissolves and the mixture reaches a gentle boil. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  3. Combine Ingredients: In a large pitcher, pour the cooled tea and add the simple syrup. Stir well to combine.
  4. Add Peach Puree and Dilute: Add the pureed peaches from the can and the remaining 4 cups of cool water to the pitcher. Stir thoroughly to blend all flavors evenly.
  5. Chill and Serve: Refrigerate the peach iced tea until well chilled. Serve over ice for a refreshing drink.
  6. Optional Garnish: Garnish glasses with peach slices and fresh mint leaves to enhance visual appeal and add fresh aroma.

Notes

  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less sugar to the simple syrup according to taste.
  • For a stronger peach flavor, use fresh, ripe peaches instead of canned.
  • This recipe can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Serve immediately after adding ice to avoid dilution of flavor.
  • To make this drink diabetic-friendly, substitute sugar with a sugar alternative suitable for boiling.
