Description

A classic Remoulade Sauce that combines creamy mayonnaise with tangy mustard, horseradish, and a blend of Cajun spices. Perfect as a dipping sauce or condiment for seafood, sandwiches, and salads.

Ingredients

Scale

Remoulade Sauce Ingredients

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons grainy or Creole mustard
  • 1 tablespoon creamed horseradish
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cajun seasoning (such as Tony Chachere’s)
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, grainy or Creole mustard, creamed horseradish, chopped fresh parsley, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper if using until fully blended.
  2. Chill: Refrigerate the sauce for at least 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Although it can be served immediately, letting it rest enhances the taste.

Notes

  • This sauce keeps well in the refrigerator for up to a week when stored in an airtight container.
  • You can adjust the cayenne pepper to control the spiciness level according to your preference.
  • Use grainy mustard for texture; Creole mustard is a great alternative for a sharper flavor.
  • Great paired with fried seafood, sandwiches, or as a zesty salad dressing base.
