Ingredients
Scale
Lemonade:
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons)
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 4 cups cold water
Garnish:
- 1 cup ice cubes
- lemon slices for garnish (optional)
- fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Create Simple Syrup: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar with 1 cup of water. Stir constantly until the sugar is fully dissolved to make a simple syrup, about 2–3 minutes.
- Mix Lemonade: Remove simple syrup from heat and let cool slightly. In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice, cooled simple syrup, and the remaining 3 cups of cold water. Stir well.
- Chill and Serve: Add ice cubes to the pitcher and chill until ready to serve. Pour into glasses over more ice and garnish with lemon slices and mint leaves if desired.
Notes
- For a more tart lemonade, reduce the sugar slightly.
- For a sparkling twist, replace 1 cup of the cold water with club soda just before serving.
- You can also infuse the simple syrup with herbs like basil or lavender for a fun variation.
