Description

Delightfully sweet and romantic Valentine’s Chocolate Strawberries featuring fresh strawberries dipped in rich semi-sweet chocolate and optionally decorated with white chocolate drizzle and colorful sprinkles. Perfect as a quick, elegant treat or gift for special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale

Strawberries

  • 1 pound fresh strawberries, washed and thoroughly dried

Chocolate Coating

  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
  • 2 ounces white chocolate chips or chopped white chocolate (optional for decoration)

Decorations

  • Sprinkles (optional for decoration)
  • Parchment paper

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Workspace: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent the chocolate-covered strawberries from sticking.
  2. Dry Strawberries: Ensure the strawberries are completely dry after washing, as any moisture can prevent the chocolate from properly adhering.
  3. Melt Semi-Sweet Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the semi-sweet chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval until smooth and fully melted. Take care not to overheat.
  4. Dip Strawberries: Hold each strawberry by the stem and dip it into the melted chocolate, gently swirling to coat up to the desired height.
  5. Drain Excess Chocolate: Allow any excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl before placing the dipped strawberry on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Decorate with White Chocolate: If desired, melt the white chocolate similarly and drizzle it over the chocolate-covered strawberries using a fork for a decorative effect.
  7. Add Sprinkles: Sprinkle decorations onto the strawberries before the chocolate sets to ensure they stick well.
  8. Set the Chocolate: Let the strawberries sit at room temperature or refrigerate briefly until the chocolate firms up.
  9. Serve: Enjoy the chocolate-covered strawberries chilled or at room temperature as a sweet treat.

Notes

  • Ensure strawberries are very dry for best chocolate adhesion.
  • Use good quality chocolate for best flavor and texture.
  • White chocolate drizzle and sprinkles are optional but add a festive touch.
  • Store strawberries in the refrigerator if not serving immediately, but avoid long storage to prevent sogginess.
  • If chocolate thickens during dipping, gently remelt to maintain smooth texture.
