Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Prepare dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Cream butter and sugar: In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2–3 minutes.
- Add wet ingredients: Add the egg, sour cream, milk, vanilla extract, and almond extract if using, and mix until smooth.
- Combine ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix just until combined.
- Bake: Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, flatten, and bake for 10–12 minutes.
- Cool and decorate: Cool on the baking sheet, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar or frost as desired.
